Responding to Constituents: Effectively Addressing the Needs of Voters and Constituency Groups

Virtual
Thursday, May 12, 2022 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM   iCalendar Eastern Standard Time

Responding to the needs and demands of constituents has never been more difficult in today’s politically polarized and politically charged environment. Nonetheless, effective leadership and moving community initiatives forward requires that elected officials successful respond to constituent needs, effectively communicate with constituents and navigate competing demands. This session will explore how best to establish consistent responses to constituents that build trust, reduce antagonism and create political consensus.

The goal of this course is to help elected officials more effectively answer to the needs of constituents and assist them in creating a consistent constituent service response. Elected officials completing this course should have better communication skills and knowledge that can assist them in building political consensus, alleviating discord and polarization, and generally responding to constituent requests. Effective leadership and moving community initiatives forward requires that elected officials successful respond to constituent needs, effectively communicate with constituents and navigate their sometimes competing demands.
