In this course, you will learn why it is necessary to have a different set of accounting rules for government. You will explore at a high level the differences in those rules as compared to the private sector. You will review the objectives of governmental accounting, and how it is used to measure accountability. Finally, you will learn the basics of fund structure, financial statement presentation, and how the differences in measurement focus and basis of accounting affect those things.
