2023 Risk Control: OSHA 10 Hour Safety Course (Multi-Day)

Course Description:  This is a 10-hour safety course, designed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), to assist employees with safety responsibilities on the recognition of common safety and health hazards they may find on the job, as well as their right to work in a safe environment.  This safety course helps workers identify, avoid, and correct on-the-job hazards.  Some topics include Hazard Communication, Machine Guarding, Recordkeeping, Confined Space and many more!

There is no cost for this course.

OSHA 10 Speaker Bio’s

Matt Reid (Eastern Region Risk Control Consultant) - Matt has over 20 years of experience in risk management and comes to the North Carolina League of Municipalities from the Virginia Municipal League Insurance Programs, where he worked as a Senior Safety Consultant.  Matt holds a B.S. in Safety and Risk Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Science degree in Safety Sciences from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.   mreid@NCLM.ORG   919-404-1857

Darius Chisholm (South Region Risk Control Consultant) - Darius has over 15 years of experience in safety and risk management and comes to the NC League from the City of Salisbury, where he served as Risk Manager.  Darius previously worked in safety for Union County, Lance- Inc., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and the North Carolina Department of Labor, where he served as an OSHA compliance officer and consultant.  Darius holds a B.S. in Environmental Health and Safety from East Carolina University and is a certified manager of environmental safety and health.   dchisholm@nclm.org   704-491-9493
